(New Iberia, La.) 1902-1944, December 05, 1903, Image 3 Our community was greatly shocked when a telegram was received from High Island, Texas, announcing the sudden death of young Chas. T. Cade, at that place on Saturday last. The remains were brought here for interment and the funeral obsequies were conducted at the Church of the Epiphany, Rev. C. C. Kramer, officiating. Deceased was a son of Hon. C. Taylor Cade, the well known stockman and politicians, to whom he was almost indispensable, entering into his fathers business, with vigor and intelligence that made him the mainstay of the family. Although but 24 years of age, his judgement and business qualities were far in advance of his years which coupled with his great energy and indomitable will gave promise of a most valuable career. His health for the past year had been poor, owing to an accident from an horse, having been thrown with great force which affected his head and mental functions to a great degree. His loss is irreparable to his family who are inconsolable, the mother being completely prostrated. The entire community sympathize with the bereaved ones, in which the Enterprise heartily joins. source: The Weekly Iberian. (New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, December 05, 1903, Image 6 Charles T.
