Ribbeck last Saturday at 4 o'clock p. m., Mr. Louis C. Clay, of Chicago, Ill., uncle of Mrs. Ribbeck, aged 54 years. Mr. Clay had been visiting the Ribbeck family for several months when he became too ill to return home from the ravages of the disease from which he was afflicted. He was a gentleman of sterling worth and made many friends in New Iberia who were pained to learn of his death. Deceased was buried from the Catholic Church on Sunday evening at 5 o'clock in the presence of a large concourse of friends.
