Monday, August 10, following several months' illness. Mr. Crouchet was a retired bakery shop business man and had operated several bakery shops in this area. He was the former owner of the Danna Bakery Shop. He was the son of the late Jean Crouchet, formerly of France, and the late Mary Ann Walker, formerly of England. During the civil war, his father's hotel in Lafayette was burned by Federal troops. He was a native and lifetime resident of Iberia parish. Survivors include three sons, Forest Crouchet of Abbeville, Joseph Venkal Crouchet of New Orleans, and Johnny Crouchet of New Iberia; one daughter, Mrs. E. J. LaGrade of Lafayette and six grandchildren and three great- grandchildren. Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 12, from the Berges Funeral Home to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic church in New Iberia. Interment was in the St. Peter's cemetery.
