(New Iberia, La.) 1902-1944, June 22, 1912, Image 3 The bodies of Mr. George Curtis and of his nephew, George Riggs, son and grand-son of our fellow-citizen, Mr. John C. Curtis, who were both drowned in Bayou Carlin the night of the storm were recovered on Saturday evening and Sunday morning. The remains of Mr. Curtis were interred in the Protestant Cemetery Sunday morning at 2 o'clock, it being impossible to hold them any longer. That of Master Riggs, who was discovered Sunday morning was buried at 11 o'clock the same day. The relatives of the grief stricken family have the heartfelt sympathy of the community. Mr. Charles leaves a widow and several children to mourn his demise, besides his father and several brothers and sisters.
