After a period of illness lasting several years, death claimed Mr. Octave Darby on Wednesday, October 15th at 11 o'clock A. M. Deceased was born in the home in which he expired, some sixty-eight years ago. He was the son of the late St. Marc Darby and Coralie Fuselier and enjoyed the respect of a large number of citizens throughout the State. He leaves one brother. Mr. Gabriel Darby, several nieces and cousins to mourn his loss. His remains were peacefully laid to rest in St. Peter's Catholic cemetery last Thursday morning in the presence of intimate friends and a few relatives. Mr. Darby was an eccentric character and from what we were informed requested of his relatives that no burial ceremony be performed over his earthly remains.
