A most pathetic and heart searching funeral was that of Mrs. Albert E. Decourt, nee Lilly Dorah Melhop, wife of Hon. A. E. Decorut (sic), which was held last Sunday at the Presbyterian Church, at this place. The little edifice could not contain the members who attended. Rev. A. C. Arthur, officiated and conducted the services in a most feeling and touching manner which suffused all eyes in tears, while the grief-stricken ones were offered the consolation of Him that doeth all things well. Mrs. Decourt died in the prime of life being but 37 years of age, she leaves behind her a husband and five little children to whom her loss is irrevocable and who will ever miss the gentle ministrations of the mother. Mrs. Decourt was beloved by the whole community for her many graces of mind and heart, she was a prime factor is the building of the little church from whose portals her body was carried to its last resting place. Her charities were numerous and of that christ like nature, that were never blazoned to the world but performed without ostentation and secretly in imitation of the blessed master who was her ideal. The body was carried to Carroliton, La., via the Southern Pacific Railroad and there interred in the family vaults. Deceased's mother, sisters and brothers still living mourn her untimely loss. In company with the entire community the Enterprise offers its hearty sympathy and friendship to the bereaved ones. source: The Weekly Iberia.
