Friends of the family of Mr. Albert Decourt were shocked on Wednesday morning upon learning of the accidental drowning of his 25 year-old son, Melhop Decourt, which took place at Slidell, La. So far, we have not been able to learn the full particulars of the unfortunate accident which brought on the young man's death, no more than that he was employed with others doing mechanical work on a railroad bridge and fell into the water and drowned before help could reach him. His father and other close relatives are now residents of Alhambra, California. The young man was a native of New Iberia. His remains were escorted to New Orleans on Thursday morning and interred near that of his deceased mother.
