On yesterday evening at about 5:30 o'clock one of the derricks gave away at the top and caused a scantling to fall to the ground. In falling it struck Emile Decuir, one of the workmen, on the head, causing his instant death. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Decuir of Fausse Pointe, and was about 36 years of age. The deceased was a member of Cypress Camp No. 34, W. O. W. of this city. The funeral will take place this evening at 5:00 from St. Peters Catholic Church under the conducts of the Woodmen.
