The death of one of the most respected residents of the city, Mr. Maximilien 
Decuir Thursday morning at the home of his son Fred Decuir is reported.

Mr. Decuir was a native of this parish and for 76 years had lived here among 
his many friends and had seen his children grow up around him to become 
valued citizens and business men and there are few who did not know and 
respect him. He leaves seven children as follows: Mrs. Aristide Decuir, Mrs. 
John O'Brien, Ernest Decuir, Henry Decuir, Cherre Decuir, Marie Decuir and 
Frederick Decuir.

He had been ailing for some time but it was hoped he would recover. However 
at 10 o'clock Thursday, he passed away surrounded by his family. The funeral 
was hel from the Catholic church Friday after noon at three o'clock, when 
the entire city did testify to their sympathy with the bereaved.
