On Monday, November 17th, 1913, Mr. Whitney Delahoussaye, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Delahoussaye, Sr., of St. Martinville, died at 10 o'clock a. m. at the residence of his parents, aged 26 years, after a short illness. When the young man fell sick he was an employee of the Erath Sugar Company, Limited, having its electric light plant in charge. From the refinery he was taken to St. Martinville, where he was with his family. The deceased was a young man of sterling qualities and was well liked by those who knew him. The funeral took place from the Catholic Church on Tuesday at 11 o'clock a. m., attended by a large number of friends, relatives and acquaintances. The brothers of the deceased served as pallbearers. They were Messrs Ernest, Edwin, Willie, Alexis, Duma, and Edmond Delahoussaye. The honorary pallbearers were Misses Anita Fournet, Jeanne Fournet, Grace Bienvenu, Mime Bienvenu, May Duchamp, and Lucy Martin.
