(New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, November 14, 1903, Image 5 Norval Derouen, a prominent planter of the 5th ward of Iberia parish, a gallant Confderate [sic] veteran, a gentleman in the full sence [sic] of the word, honored and respected by all who knew him and possessing imnumerable [sic] friends not only in his imediate [sic] neighborhood, but throughout this city, parish and section passed away at his home near New Iberia, on Tuesday, at the advanced age of seventy three years. Deceased leaves a widow, three daughters, eight sons and many relatives and friends to mourn his loss. Funeral services were held in St. Peter's Catholic Church at this place Wednesday, and the remains were interred in the Catholic Cemetery the funeral being a large one. Peace to his ashes.
