DEATH OF PIERRE AUGUST DROUET.

After a lingering illness of several years, the venerable Mr. Pierre August 
Drouet; a native of this Parish succumbed last Wednesday evening at 3 
o'clock at his country home several miles from New Iberia. Mr. Drouet was 
aged respectively 62 years and was a brother of Mr. Numa, Prospere, Misses 
Sophie and Pauline and Mesdames Chas. P. Hacker of Beaumont and Mrs. Robert 
Hacker of Hammond, La. The remains were followed to its resting place by a 
large concourse of sympathizing friends and relatives last Thursday evening 
at 5 o'clock. Deceased was a gentleman of sterling qualities and had hosts 
of friends throughout the Parish.
