CHARENTON — A Home-Going service will be held for Emma Dugas, 82, the former 
Emma Theodile at 1 p.m. Friday, October 21, 2016, at Mt. Pleasant Baptist 
Church with Rev. Paul Godfrey, Pastor, officiating.

She will await the resurrection in Sorrel Community Cemetery in Sorrel.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday at the church from 
10 a.m. until time of service.

A resident of Sorrel, she passed at 12:27 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 
2016, at her residence. She was baptized at an early age and joined Mt. 
Pleasant Baptist Church in Charenton under the pastorship of Rev. Johnny 
Carr and Rev. Paul Godfrey.

She leaves to cherish her fond memory five sons, Robert Theodile Sr. (Dolly) 
of Jeanerette, Ernest Dugas, Jr. (Trina) of Sorrell, Patrick Dugas (Paula) 
of Beaumont, Texas, Randy Dugas (Irma) of Sorell, and Frankie Dugas (Mary) 
of Four Corners; three daughters, Cheryl Landry of New Iberia, Linda Brown 
of Sorrell, and Eva Barlow (Wendell) of New Iberia; a brother, Alvin 
Theodile (Mary) of Four Corners; 35 grandchildren; 71 great-grandchildren; 3 
great-great grandchildren; her sisters-in- law, Lucy Edmond, Sue Ann Freeman 
and Victoria Theodile; her brothers-in- law, Albert Freeman, Arthur Freeman, 
Walter Freeman and Terrell Spencer; her godchildren, Elnora Jack, Howard 
Johnson, Emma Jean Lumpkin and Christopher Hawkins and a host of nieces, 
nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Dugas Sr; her parents, 
Elijah and Alice Armstead Theodile; one son, Donnie Dugas; one grandson, 
Donnie Dugas Jr.; one sister, Ethel Spencer, and one brother, Irvin Theodile 
Sr.

Active pallbearers will be Simeon Theodile, Ernest Dugas III, Rolando Dugas, 
Kameron Dugas, Sharmaine Dugas and Damaune Dugas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Theodile, Larry Welch, Jr., Brandon 
Welch, Carlos Archangel, Robert Theodile Jr., Patrick Harris, Patrick 
Archangel, Miguelos Dugas, Irvin Stewart, Darius Dugas, Alvin Theodile, 
Albert Freeman, Walter Freeman, Arthur Freeman and Juanere Meaux.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fletcher Funeral Home 609 W. 
Admiral Doyle Dr. New Iberia, LA 70560. Words of condolences may be
