As we go to press we learn of the sudden death on the Peebles Plantation of Mr. Willie L. Dupuy which occurred at seven o'clock last night. Mr. Dupuy had been in the best of health and expired in a chair while seated at his dining table at his home surrounded by his family without showing the least symptoms of illness. Whether his death was caused by appoplexy (sic) or heart failure we have been unable to learn. Deceased was a man of examplary (sic) habits and was at the time of his death employed as a book keeper for Godchaux Plantation near New Iberia. For some months he was a Deputy Sheriff and had many staunch friends in the Parish. He was a son of the late L. Alcee Dupuy, being born in this City in the year 1869. Besides his widow who was a Miss Aglontine Burgoyne he leaves six children to mourn his loss, the eldest being a daughter 14 years of age. The funeral is announced to take place from the Catholic church this afternoon at four o'clock.
