DEATH OF MRS. JOHN EMMER.

On Sunday, Feb. 24th, 1918 at 11:25 A. M., after a useful and unassuming 
life, Mrs. John Emmer nee Adelia Lamperez, peacefully surrendered her soul 
to its Maker. Deceased had reached the ripe age of 70 years, eight months 
and eighteen days and her death was a great shock to all her friends and 
acquaintances as well as her husband, sons and daughter. For the past two 
years the deceased had been in failing health and her devoted husband and 
children lavished every attention possible during her protracted illness. 
Some fifty-two years ago she was bethrothed (sic) in marriage to Hon. John 
Emmer and most of their married life was spent in New Iberia where she was 
born. Besides her husband, she leaves to mourn her demise one daughter, Mrs. 
George J. Labau of Jeanerette and Drs. Albert G. and W. J. Emmer. The 
funeral services were conducted from St. Peter's Catholic church by Rev. 
Father Langlois on Monday afternoon at 4:30 o'clock and the remains interred 
in the family mausoleum in the Catholic cemetery. The grief-stricken husband 
and children have the sympathy of a large circle of friends in Southwest 
Louisiana. The pall bearers were: Messrs. Silvio Broussard, John Boudier, W. 
B. Bauman, Jack Lamperez, Alfred Lamperez, Gustave Lamperez, George Labau 
and M. W. Fisher.
