Died, at New Orleans on Wednesday, October 22d, 1913, at 11 o'clock a. m., the venerable Mr. Octave (Nunez) Etie at the ripe old age of 77 years, a native of New Iberia who took up his residence in New Orleans about fifteen years ago, having secured a lucrative position in the Custom House building of that city which position he had held continuously up to the time of his death. The remains of deceased were brought to New Iberia and taken in charge by the Knights of Temperance organization of which he was, we belive, one of the original charter members. The funeral was held from the undertaking parlors of Mr. Aristide Boutte yesterday evening and the remains interred in St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his demise besides his widow several daughters, all of whom have the sympathy of a large number of relatives and friends. source: The Weekly Iberian.
