Died, at his residence in New Iberia, on Thursday, December 20 h, at 10:5 
o'clock (sic) p m., J. B. Finney, Sr., born in Madison County, New York, 
January 24th, 1834. The funeral took place from the Methodist Church, 
Friday, December 21st, (yesterday) at 3:30 o'clock p. m.

The venerable Mr. J. B. Finney, Sr., whose health has been failing for some 
time past, died at his home in this place, on Thursday last, aged 66 years. 
Deceased was a native of New York state, but had been a resident of New 
Iberia for many years. His remains were buried from the Methodist church on 
Friday evening.
