(New Iberia, La.) 1902-1944, November 30, 1912, Image 3 Last Thursday evening at about three o'clock a tragic accident occurred at the large shingle and saw mill plant of the P. L. Renoudet Lumber Company, which resulted in a sixteen year old boy losing his life. It seems the lad, John Folse had been directed by one of the numerous employees to hold a belt which had become disarranged from the pulley overhead, when in some unaccountable manner he turned his head and the belt became caught in the moving machinery, twisting around his body to such an extent as to not only jerk off one of his arms but to completely cut his body half in two, the upper portion of his body being carried to one part of the mill, leaving the lower limbs near the spot from which he stood, killing him instantly.
