Died, at his residence at No. 526 Weeks Street in this City on Wednesday, Aug. 28th at 5:15 o'clock P. M., the venerable Mr. Louis V. Fridley, born Sept. 8th, 1847. Mr. Fridiley was a native of St. Martinville and removed to the Parish of Iberia about twenty-seven years ago, rearing a family of eight sons and daughters. Deceased had been a sufferer from dropsy for several months and his death was not unexpected. He was well known in New Iberia and was generally esteemed by all who knew his generous traits and uprighteousness. Those who survive him are Misses Estelle, Francis and Eloise and Messrs. Elouis Fridley of Beaumont, Luke of New Orleans and St. Martin, Zachery and Leonard of New Iberia. The funeral was conducted from St. Peter's Catholic church on Thursday afternoon at five o'clock in the presence of the friends and grief-stricken children who mourn his loss.
