There's a wideness in God's mercy, Like the wideness of the sea; There's a kindness in His justice That is more than liberty, For the love of God is broader Than the measure of man's mind, And the heart of the Eternal Is most wonderfully kind. So when death enters a loving family circle and carries away a devoted daughter, a fond sister and a faithful young wife, as in the case of Mrs. Emma Barthe Fuller (wife of H. D. Fuller), who died in New Orleans last week, the only consolation is the breadth of God's wisdom, and wonder of his love. With our finite vision we cannot see one step ahead. So do not fear the pit- falls, the pain or sorrow. But the all-seeing Father often stops down and lifts a dear one out of dangerous paths and takes them to himself where trouble, pain or any other evil cannot come. Emma Barthe Fuller the elder sister of a large family was the joy and blessing of the household. To her mother (fragile and tender) she was a constant source of comfort. Married only two years, her chosen life's companion being now seriously ill in Georgia did not know of his heavy loss. One loving brother is sick in the sanitariam (sic) from which she passed away. Words however earnest and loving will bring but little consolation to hearts quivering in anguish. God alone can with "the still small voice" speak to the hearts of His children. Pining souls come nearer Jesus, Come but, come not doubting thus, Come with faith that trusts more freely His great tenderness for us. If our loving were but more simple We should take Him at His word, And our lives would be all sunshine In the sweetness of the Lord. M. L. P. Card of Thanks. I desire to extend my sincere gratitude to those friends who tendered their sympathy and aid to me and my family in our bereavement caused by the departure of our daughter, Mrs. H. D. Fuller, from this life. Victor Barthe Additional Comments: NOTE: daughter of Louis Victor Barthe and Monica Usher. Emma Barthe married Harry Deacon Fuller in New Orleans on 5 Nov. 1904.
