The death of Mrs. Kate A. Hamblet, nee Haner, occured at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Jennie I. Putnam, at Houston Saturday morning, Nov. 6th, 1915, at the age of 73 years, 9 months and 25 days. She was born in New Orleans. The remains were brought to Abbevills (sic), arriving here Sunday afternoon. Services were held at the Methodist-Episcopal church, Rev. Dr. C. A. Schilling and Rev. J. D. Neeson conducting the services. Interement (sic) was made in the Masonic grave yard in the same grave of her late husband, Dr. J. T. Hamblet. Her first marriage was to Mr. Hiram Langdon Nourse. She is survived by two daughters Mrs. J. I. Putnam, and Mrss Laura Nourse, both of Houston; and eighteen grandchildren beidg (sic) Misses Kate, Dora and Nettie O'Bryan, Messrs. Lawrence Arthur and Louis O'Bryan and Mrs. Sidney Alpha, children of Mrs. C. D. O'Bryan; Messrs. John, Edwin, Oliver, Francis and Robert and Misses Ruth and Mary O'Bryan, children of Mrs. O. H. O'Bryan; Miss Alice and Messrs. Edward, Henry and Robert Putnam, children of Mrs. Robert Putnam. Three great grand children Hazel O'Bryan and Mildred and Marjorie Alpha, besides one brother and one sister.
