This venerable gentleman, uncle of Mr. H. N. Pharr, of Olivier, La., died at the residence of Mr. J. A. Pharr at Fairview Plantation, at 10:15 P. M., Thursday, August 4th. He was a native of Clinton, La., having been born there on Feb. 27, 1848. He was one of the first members of the New Iberia Lodge of Masons, and at the time of his death, was a member of Doric No. 205 in Morgan City. The funeral services were conducted by the Morgan City Lodge, F. and A. M., on the arrival of Train No. Seven in New Iberia, Friday, August 5th. Interment was made in Rose Hill Cemetery in this city. A large number of local Masons of this city attended the funeral. source: New Iberia Enterprise and Independent Observer. Pharr, on Fairview plantation, St. Mary parish on Thursday, August 4th, Mr. Milton Hamilton, a native of Clinton, La. His remains were intered in Rose Hill cemetery in this City the same evening at 4 o'clock, Mr. Hamilton was well-known to many of the citizens of New Iberia.
