On Sunday last, March 12th passed away one of New Iberia's esteemed old 
citizens, Mr. Michel Hebert, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Gaston 
Mestayer, aged 81 years, 7 months. Deceased belonged to that sturdy old Creole 
stock, noted for their strict probity and high sense of honor and of these 
noble qualities he was the very embodiment. His funeral took place from the 
Catholic church and friends and relatives paid a last tribute to the memory of 
the dear departed one.
