M. and was buried in New Iberia, May 2d, 1915 at 4 P. M. came as a shock to the entire community. To be taken away in the very prime of life was indeed lamentable, and there are circumstances connected with this untimely death which are most appealing and pathetic. Realizing that a change would be beneficial to her she was sent to New Orleans for treatment and in spite of all that medical skill could do she died five days after leaving home. Deprived of the love of a mother at a tender age she was reared by her grandmother, Mrs. Frederick Duperier and she proved herself a most devoted and unselfish grand-daughter. After the death of her grand-mother she made her home with her sister., Mrs. A. G. Barrow and only those who knew her well saw how beautiful and heroic was her devotion to her sister and family. She endeared herself to all by the sweet simplicity and cheerful disposition and the tender recollections of her devoted life will sooth the grief stricken hearts of those who mourn her loss. After an illness of only two weeks, death called the dear soul of Clemence Hebert to met her Eternal reward. Her death is a shock to her dear ones, who were so hopeful of her recovery from the beginning of this short illness. She was brought to New Orleans only five days before her death, where the end came on Sunday, May 2d at 1 A. M. Miss Clemence was a native of this City and was forty-four years of age. Her parents were of the first natives of New Iberia they were Alphonsine Duperier and Alexis Hebert. Deceased leaves to mourn her demise two sisters and a brother: Mrs. Jules Blanchet, Mrs. A. G. Barrow and Mr. Henry Hebert of Galveston, Texas, besides many nieces, grand nieces and nephews. Her face was a bright as the sunshine. Her heart was a heart of gold Her life was spent in helping her dear one, whom she loved with the love of old. May she rest in Peace.
