Creamer marykcreamer@yahoo.com September 28, 2019, 11:55 pm source: Weekly Town Talk (Akexandria, Louisiana) 10 July 1920, Saturday, page 6 Death. - HENRY - At the family residence at Lecompte, La. on Wednesday, July 7th, 1920, at 7 p. m., Dr. Eugene Lee Henry, aged 44 years and seven months. The Ref. W. S. Slack of St. James Episcopal Church, Alexandria, La, will go to Lecompte this evening to hold services at the family residence at 8 o'clock, and tomorrow morning the remains will be taken over the Southern Pacific road to New Iberia, where they will be interred in Rosehill cemetery. The funeral services will be conducted in the Episcopal Church in New Iberia at 1 p. m. Friday by the Rev. W. S. Slack, Members of Gordy Lode of Masons of Lecompte and Alexandria will go to New Iberia to attend the funeral. The Masonic Lodges of New Iberia and Lecompte will assist in the funeral services. Dr. Henry is survived by his wife, who was Miss Pattie Bynum Hardy and to whom he was married on April 6th, 1899. They have no children. His mother, Mrs. Matilda Reynolds Henry, three sisters and one brother also survive him. The sisters and brothers are Mrs. George C. Ricksicker of Galena, Kansas; Mrs. C. A. Roy of Denver, Colorado; Mrs. J. Warren Berwick of Eunice, La., and Mr. James S. Henry of Duston Oklahoma. Dr. Henry was very prominent in the medical profession. He was ex-president of the Louisiana State Medical Society, and was for the past eight years a member of the Board of Administrators of the Louisiana Hospital for Insane, Pineville; was a member of the State Board of Medical Examiners, and practiced medicine in Rapides parish for the past twenty-one years.
