The sudden death of the venerable Mr. Vincent Jennaro which occurred at his home on East Main Street last Tuesday afternoon at 4:45 o'clcok was a shock to his friends in this City. Mr. Jennaro was enjoying good health, and only an hour or two before he was stricken with appoplexy he was transacting business as usual. He was stricken about ten o'clock and lingered a couple of hours before life was extinct. Deceased came to New Iberia in the year 1882 and was for many years one of our leading business men. In the latter years of his life he conducted with his wife a small mercantile business very successfully. He was a life-long member of the Knights of Pythias organization and for many years took quite a prominent part in its success. Besides his grief-stricken widow he leaves several daughters and one son to mourn his demise, namely, Mr. Luca V. Jennaro of New Orleans; Mrs. M. Piraro of this City; Mrs. Tony Neill of Lake Charles and Miss Lucille Jennaro of New Iberia. Two brothers and a sister also survive him. The funeral was conducted from St. Peter's Catholic church on Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock in the presence of a large concourse of relatives and friends. Card of Thanks. We wish to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to our many relatives and friends for the kindness and sympathy extended us at the death of our devoted and beloved husband and father Vincent Jennaro. Many thanks for the beautiful floral offerings. All have our everlasting gratitude. MRS. V. JENNARO and Children.
