(New Iberia, La.) 1902-1944, October 02, 1815, Image 5 DEATH OF J. BRUNSON KERR. Died, on Saturday afternoon at the city of New York, Mr. J. Brunson Kerr, aged 52 years. Mr. Kerr had been a resident of that city where he practiced the profession of law for about twenty years and built up quite an extensive practice. His relatives here, the Burke family and Mrs. C. Taylor Cade, his sister, received word of his sudden death on Sunday morning. It seems Mr. Kerr was en route to Coney Island on a fishing expedition when he was suddenly stricken with an attack of the heart from which he succumbed before he could return to his family. He was a son of the late David Kerr, a large planter in this Parish before and after the Civil War. He leaves to mourn his demise a widow, Mrs. Kerr, nee Helen Burke a sister of Messrs. Walter, Willie and Porteus Burke of this City and a sister, Mrs. C. T. Cade and two children, a son and daughter. His relatives have the sympathy of their acquaintances. source: The Weekly Iberian. Brunson Ker, who died on the train, on his way to Coney Island for a Saturday afternoon fishing outing. Mr. Ker was for many years a resident of this city. After completing his course of studies in law, he went to New York city to make his home and to practice his profession. He was quite successful. he married Miss Helen Burke, a daughter of the late Jas. L. Burke of this city. He was a brother of Mrs. C. Taylor Cade, of this city.
