KRAMER Passed Away last Sunday Night at the Home of his Son in Franklin. All of New Iberia, and a broad circle besides, was grieved on Monday morning to learn the news that Tev. C. C. Kramer had died during the night before at the home of his step-son, Wilbur H. Kramer, at Franklin. The remains were brought to this city on a "special," over the Frisco, on Tuesday afternoon, and after the funeral services had at the Episcopal Church, were laid to rest by his Masonic brethren in Rose Hill Cemetery. Rev. C. C. Kramer - Mr. Kramer held the pastorate of the Episcopal church in this city longer than any predecessor. He made any number of loyal friends in this community, many of whom were not members of his congregation. When he accepted the call to Marshall, Tex, in the spring of 1909, it was with a keen sense of loss that many of this community gave up a companion ship of long standing endeared by the warmest ties of friendship. He became a Master Mason on the 24th of May, 1897, and from the very first took a deep interest in all things pertaining to the advancement of the art. He made a careful study of the ancient landmarks of the order and was generally considered as one well informed. He was four times elected Master of his Mother lodge, Aurora 193, and after serving the lodge two terms as its chief officer, the record bears testimony of the genuineness of his ardor and love for the order by recording his punctual and constant service in minor stations. For four consecutive years he discharged the arduous duties of the office of Secretary. In 1901, and again in 1905, he was honored by the Most Worshipful Grand Master of this State with the appointment to the office of District Deputy Grand Master. By a noteworthy and pecular (sic) coincidence, as one of the orators of the day, he addressed the multitude assembled to witness the setting of the corner stone of the new Masonic Temple of this city on May 24th, 1911, the fourteenth anniversary of his raising to the sublime degree of a Master Mason. On that occasion he, him self, called attention to the fact. While the days of the month do not coincide, yet it was in the month of April that he received the "white lamb skin apron" from the hands of the late Jno. S. Alfred, Past Master pf Jefferson Lodge, No. 191. He was also a member of Iberia Lodge No. 41, Masons' Annuity, thereby leaving his widow an annuity of $600. Mr. Kramer stood high in the councils of the church and he was many times distinguished in consequence of his mental attainments, zealousness manifested in every undertaking, and unusual ability as an orator. Bishop Sessums, of this state, preached the funeral sermon and was assisted in the conduct of the obsequies by Rev. H. C. Duncan of Alexandria, Rev. R. Hale of Franklin, Rev. Tucker of Houma and Rev. R. R. Diggs, pastor of the Church of the Epiphany. The pall bearers were Messrs. P. R. Burke, Jules Dreyfus, Chas. Gouguenheim, A. B. Murray, Robt. A. Bell, C. E. Smeeds, Jno. T. DeValcourt and E. T. Weeks. He is survived by his widow and her four sons, Messrs. Wilbu (sic) H. and Paul Kramer, of Franklin; Edward W. Kramer, of Missoula, Mont; and Louis C. Kramer, of San Francisco. Rev. Chas. Coleman Kramer is a native of the City of Baltimore. He was born on the anniversary of the battle of New Orleans in the year 1858, and stands to day in the ranks of the American clergy as a fully developed product of the public schools of that City.
