An unfortunate accident befel a young eighteen year old son of Mr. H. B. Landry 
at Jeanerette last Tuesday in which the young man lost his life by drowning in 
the Teche. This week, we believe, on the same day, a negro boy went swimming in 
the Teche above New Iberia and he too, lost his life. Almost every summer season 
a life is lost here by drowning and despite the toll the boys continue to take 
the chances which oftentimes prove fatal.
