MR. DENIS P. MARKHAM.

Word was received here Monday morning of the sudden death, by heart failure, of 
Mr. Denis P. Markham, who resided in New Orleans.

He had quite a number of relatives in Iberia, including three sisters, Mrs. C. 
Gonzales, Mrs. Emile Verret and Mrs. A. Naquin, and two brothers, James and 
Patrick Markham. His wife, a sister of Mrs. E. R. Bergeron, and six children 
also survive him.

The funeral was held on Tuesday in New Orleans, those attending from here being 
Mr. and Mrs. C. Gonzales, Mrs. J. E. Verret, Messrs. James and Patrick Markham, 
and E. R. Bergeron, who went to the city on Monday, returning Tuesday night.
