Millard, founder of the Weekly Iberian, died on Sunday, March 12th, at the age of 83 years. She had taken ill and was at the home of Mr. G. W. Compton when the end came, and the funeral was conducted from that place on Monday at 2 P. M., Reverend S. D. Roberts officiating. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery. Mrs. Millard, formerly Mary R. Fuller, moved to New Iberia from St. Martinville in 1858 with her husband who died in 1879. She was owner of extensive city real estate, situated in the upper part of New Iberia, one large piece, the entire block on Railroad Avenue, from Main to St. Peter Street, having been sold recently. One daughter, Mrs. Edward Cox, survives.
