"Tangle" Moity, the former Melba Oubre, 85, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Peters Catholic Church with the Rev. Charles Langlois officiating. Entombment will follow in Beau Pre Mausoleum. Visiting hours will be observed Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. with a rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Evangeline Funeral Home. Visitation will resume Wednesday at 8 a.m. until time of service. A native of Loreauville and resident of New Iberia, Mrs. Moity died at 8:25 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at her residence. Melba was a homemaker with special interests in art, sewing and gardening. She is survived by her two sons, Randolph M. Moity Sr. of Marco Island, Fla. married to Donna Doerle Moity and Dwight J. Moity of New Iberia married to Bridget Gaspard Moity; a sister, Georgia Oubre Ledet of Houma; four grandchildren, Ian C. Moity, Jerad P. Moity, R. Michael Moity Jr. and Laurie M. Mader and six great-grandchildren. Mrs. Moity was preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert J. "Tangle" Moity; parents, Junius and Euphemie Dugas Oubre and two sisters, Gladys Oubre Broussard and May Lois Oubre Gary. Pallbearers will be Ian C. Moity, Jerad P. Moity, R. Michael Moity Jr., Dr. Craig M. Sanders, Kevin Landry and Dennis Dworaczyk. Memorial donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Moity to LA Hospice and Palative Care, 4871 I-49 South Service Road, Opelousas, LA 70570. The family wishes to give special thanks to Dr. James B. Falterman Jr., Iberia Extended Care Facility and LA Hospice and Palative Care for their special efforts during her illness. Evangeline Funeral Homes of New Iberia is in charge of the arrangements.
