DIED - On October 20th, 1899, at her residence, East End, New Iberia, La., MRS. EMMA MORGAN, aged 52 years. Our beloved Mother has been taken from us to shine in the Sanctuary of heaven. Her low sweet voice now joins in the heavenly choir that sings around the mercy seat. She has passed through the gates of the eternal city, where sickness, sorrow and death never come. Never again will we hear that sweet voice, whose affectionate greeting has so often sent a thrill of delight to our hearts. She has gone; alas ! it is too true. Her insensible form is at rest and sleeps in a cold grave far from the home of her childhood. Mother, dear Mother, thou art gone. No grim shadows fall athwart that blessed land where thou hast thy abode. Deep in the sanctuary of our hearts and home is a hallowed place where thou hast been. Other loved ones may crowd around us, but none other than thee can fill this sacred spot. One strong link is severed which binds thy loved ones to earth: one strong link is formed which draws them on to the eternal abode of the blest, where the loved and cherished on earth shall never part. Sleep on, dear mother, while the angels vigil keep, rest forever more; for with old memories we weep as never before. One thought our spirit cheers; The time will come When earth will fold us to her breast And we with you will sweetly rest, Safe at home. HER CHILDREN.
