The sudden death in this City last Wednesday night at eleven o'clock of Mrs. Anthony N. Muller, nee Leocade LeBlanc, daughter of Clerk of Court J. G. LeBlanc and wife of our District Attorney, was indeed a heartrendering shock to the relatives and friends of the deceased. Mrs. Muller had been preceeded to the grave only a few hours before by her youngest offspring and few of her dear relatives who were at her bedside, realized that her life was slowly ebbing away until she had passed to other realms. Deceased leaves to mourn her loss, besides her grief-stricken and devoted husband, three little children, ranging in ages from four to six years and a devoted mother, father, brothers and sisters, all having the sympathy of their friends in the hour of their terrible affliction. The funeral ceremonies were held at St. Peter's Catholic church on Thursday evening at four o'clock in the presence of hundreds of her friends, many coming from the surrounding Parishes to pay their last respect to the Christian woman and mother, the remains being interred in St. Peter's cemetery. Peace to her ashes. source: The Weekly Iberian. (New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, June 29, 1912, Image 2 Mrs. A. N. Muller, - This entire community was shocked on Thursday morning at the news of the death of Mrs. Anthony N. Muller, the wife of District Attorney Muller. Death came as eleven o'clock the night before, releasing her from the pains of earthly existence. She was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. G. LeBlanc. Seldom has it been our duty to record a death which has carried the pangs of sorrow to the hearts of so many. She was of an affectionate disposition, bright and winning in her ways, so that friendship's circle to her was a large and ever increasing one. It is hard to realize that she has gone. Here she played as a child, developed into beautiful girlhood; here she married and helped to establish a home of her own; here her life was spent; a beautiful life full of a mother's love, her battles were fought, and her faithful service rendered to the world. In this dearest of all places to her, she lies down at length to sleep and rest. Beautifully appropriate such a resting place, where her kindred sleep, and where her life-long friends may gather about her silent tomb with honest tears of bereavement. To her the struggle and burden bearing of earth are ended. Like one who awakes from a troubled dream, she has awakened to see life's endless morning break, at home with all of her loved ones who crossed the dark and silent river before her. Over there may she realize an immortal joy and endless happiness, distilled from and refined by the sufferings and disappointments of this mortal life.
