(New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, March 24, 1917, Image 3 News was received here on Thursday of the death of Alcide Marie jr. (sic) in Kirk, New Mexico. The remains will be brought here for interment. He was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. Alcide Marie, a brother of Mr. Leon Marie and Miss Nita Marie all of whom mourn his untimely death. (New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, March 31, 1917, Image 3 At Albuquerque, Bernalillo, New Mexico, on Thursday, March 22d, aged 20 years. The funeral took place from St. Peters Catholic Church on Tuesday afternoon at 5 o'clock. Alcide left here some eight months before, stopping at Beaumont for a while and then going on to New Mexico, where he hoped for a restoration of his rapidly failing health. The Express company routed his remains through Fort Worth and New Orleans and back to this place, reaching here at 12:14 a. m. on Tuesday morning. source: The New Iberia Enterprise and Independent Observer. Marie who passed to the Great Beyond at Albuquerque, New Mexico, on March 22d, arrived here on Tuesday last at 12:05 o'clock. The same afternoon at five o'clock in the presence of large concourse of sympathetic friends the funeral was conducted from St. Peter's Catholic church. Deceased leaves to mourn his sad demise, besides his father and mother, three brothers and sisters, Messrs. Leon Marie of Petit Goave, Haiti, Dudley Marie and a sister Miss Anita. The family have the sincere sympathy of a large circle of friends. Card of Thanks. - New Iberia, March 31, 1917. - We take this means to thank our friends and neighbors for the beautiful flowers given to us as a token of friendship and as an expression of sympathy to us in the loss of our beloved son and brother, Alcide J.
