(New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, November 02, 1912, Image 3 Ernest Miguez, the veteran chef and restaurateur, died at his home on upper Main street on Wednesday night. He was an invalid from Bright's disease for many months. His illness compelled him to surrender one of the finest restaurants ever established in this city. As a cook his fame extended far. Through his art he appealed to the faculty in men which causes them to return. Thus, he built a very extensive reputation for his Creole kitchen. He was generous by nature and provided liberally for his family. His death and lost presence in this community are deeply regretted by a very broad circle of acquaintances and friends. The Iberian extends its sympathies to the bereaved family.
