(New Iberia, La.) 1902-1944, May 22, 1915, Image 5 The venerable Mr. James Moran passed to the great beyond last Friday morning in the city of New Orleans where he had gone for medical treatment. Mr. Moran was aged about 73 years and came to New Iberia twenty-one years ago, taking up his residence with Mr. Albert Decourt. Deceased became particularly attached to his little daughter Josie, and in fact watched over her as tenderly and kindly as though she had been his own kin. The attachment was reciprocated on the part of the little child and Uncle Jim, as he was generally known, left her what little earthly possessions that he had accumulated. Mr. Moran was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic and drew a small pension monthly, the greater portion of which he always gave to his little favorite. He was a staunch member of the Catholic Knight Lodge of New Iberia and most of the membership followed his remains to their resting place. He was a native of Ireland.
