LAFAYETTE — Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016, at 2 
p.m. at Syrie Funeral Home for Robert Lee Nicholas Sr., 74, who died October 
14, 2016 at his residence in New Iberia.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Purnella Nicholas; his father, 
Mitchell Nicholas Sr.; his five sons, Robert Jr. (Angela), John (Terrilynn), 
David, Terry (Ayeshia) and Scotty Nicholas; two daughters, Sue Ann Harrison 
and Shannon Nicholas-Villere (Eric); his sister, Regina Zenon; his brothers, 
Aljay Nicholas and Randy Zenon; 20 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and 
a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

He was preceded in death by his son, Troy Dean; his mother, Goldie Zenon; 
his brother, Mitchell Nicholas, Jr., and his two sisters, Veronica Damond 
and Ramona Amest.

Visitation will be held Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Syrie Funeral Home from 
11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Syrie Funeral Home Inc. of Lafayette.
