Pardau was found dead in her bed Wednesday morning, at her humble home in West End, this city. Mrs. Pardau had been under the care of the Unsectarian Aid for years, even before the death of her husband, who was a cripple. Every week she had been supplied with groceries and been supplied with groceries and other necessities of life, as far back as the president of that worthy institution can remember. The good woman was willing to maintain herself and did so as long as she was physically able to work. She has been living in only an excuse of a house consisting of one room, ten by twelve, very poorly ventilated, and surrounded by negro cabins. The place is owned by Mr. Viator, who kindly allowed her to live there during these years. The ladies aid of the Methodist Church have also been generous in their assistance to her. She was laid to rest Wednesday afternoon and the expenses of the funeral were borne by the Unsectarian Aid. The Rev. Mr. Brown, of the Methodist Church, kindly officiated at the funeral.
