Died: At his home, 711 West St. Peters street, this city, on Monday, June 29th, at midnight, Judge Emile Perret, age 75 years. The funeral took place from St. Peters Catholic Church on Tuesday evening at 6 o'clock. Judge Perret was born on the 7th of July, 1839, in the parish of St. John the Baptist. He moved, when quite a young man, to Charenton, in the parish of St. Mary, where he spent the greater part of his life. For 44 years consecutively he presided over the Justice of the Peace Court of that Ward of St. Mary parish. Eight years ago he left Charenton to make his home in this city. He is survived by his venerable widow, two daughters - Mrs. Joseph Breaux, and Mrs. Robert Daspit - and three sons - P. A. Perret, Chas. Perret and Fernand Perret. Though burdened with the weight of many years, he lived an active life till the last. As a collector for various businesses of this city, and as a book agent, he was well known in every part of the city. By a uniformly straight and upright course in life he made many friends wherever duty called. source: The St. Mary Banner.
