Prevost Sr., 89, on Wednesday, October 19, 2016, at 2 p.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church with Father Cedric Sonnier officiating. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery. A native of Franklin, he was currently a resident of Lafayette. Prior to his retirement he was a practicing attorney for over 40 years and served as the Franklin City Attorney and then was elected and served for 29 years as Franklin Municipal Judge. He was the first Municipal Judge in Franklin. He was a Veteran of World War II having served in the U.S.Army. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Amelia Bean Prevost of Lafayette; his son, Charles R. Prevost Jr. and his wife Cathy of Lafayette; his brother, Richard M. Prevost of Lafayette; his sister-in-law, Marie Elise Prevost of Franklin; his grandchildren, Charles R. Prevost III and Andrew L. Prevost both of Lafayette and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Matas J. Prevost and Lydia Berlot Prevost; his son, Stephen M. Prevost and his brother, Myron J. Prevost. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles R. Prevost Jr., Charles R. Prevost III, Andrew Prevost, Ethan Duhon, Richard Calhoun and George Villagomez. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials to the charity of your choice.
