(New Iberia, La.) 1902-1944, April 8, 1917, Image 4 HENRY PENN KILLED BY FALL AT NEW ORLEANS. - Mr. Henry Penn, a farmer of this Parish had the sad misfortune of falling off a street car in the city of New Orleans on Sunday morning last and lost his life due to concussion of the brain. Mr. Penn had just reached the City at the time of the accident and while in the act of paying his fare on a car while it was in motion, fell off on the pavement suffering injuries which caused his death a few hours afterwards at the Charity Hospital. His remains were brought here and interred in St. Peter's Cemetery on Monday afternoon at five o'clock. They were taken in charge by the members of Cypress Camp No. 34, Woodmen of the World of which he was an esteemed member. The unfortunate man leaves a widow to mourn his demise. At the time of his death he was engaged in the business of farming and while he was managing an estate of Mr. John R. Taylor as a tenant, is said to have possessed considerable means which he acquired in that line of occupation.
