Mr. Garcia Romero died at his home in this city on last Sunday night 
suddenly, the result of an attack of acute indigestion. His remains were 
laid to rest from St. Peters Catholic Church on Tuesday afternoon.

The sudden death last Sunday night in this City of Mr. Garcia Romero was a 
distinct shock to his family as well as to the community, which was attested 
at the funeral ceremonies which were held at St. Peter's church on Tuesday 
evening at 5 o'clock. Mr. Romero was circulating with the members of his 
family in apparently the best of health that evening and a few minutes after 
retiring expired in the presence of his wife before medical aid could be 
summoned. Deceased was born on April 10, 1857 in this Parish, being a son of 
the late Dorsily Romero. He followed the occupation of farmer up to the time 
he removed to this City and engaged in the draying business. He leaves 
besides his widow to mourn his loss, six children, his daughters are Misses 
Elodie, Ida and May while sons are Messrs. Rene, Rivers and Francis. The 
grief stricken family have the sympathy of the community.
