MRS. JOS. D. ROMERO.

Last Monday morning at 8:30 o'clock all that was mortal of Mrs. Joseph 
Devezin Romero, nee Olivier Migues passed to the Great Beyond at the home of 
her daughter, Mrs. P. Clovis Derouen at Petite Anse. Mrs. Romero had reached 
the age of eighty-five years and for the past three years was in a feeble 
condition. Deceased was a native of this Parish and reared a large family of 
children to mourn her demise, her sons being Messrs. Octave P., Honora, 
Adolph B., Oscar D. and Mesdames Sidney Perodin of Rayne; Mrs. H. Patout of 
Patoutville; Mrs. P. C. Derouen of Petite Anse and Mrs. Samuel Pointis and 
S. O. Nuckolls of New Iberia. The funeral was held at St. Peter's Catholic 
church on Tuesday morning at nine o'clock in the presence of hundreds of 
sympathetic relatives and friends. The family have the sympathy of the 
community.

Died, at the residence of her daughter, Mrs. P. C. Derouen, at Petite Anse, 
on Monday, July 5, 1915, at 8:30 o'clock a. m., Mrs. Joseph Devezin Romero, 
born February 10, 1830. The funeral took place from St. Peter's Catholic 
church on Tuesday morning at 9 o'clock.

Mrs. Romero is survived by four sons and five daughters. They are Octave P. 
Romero, Honora Romero, Adolph B. Romero, Oscar D. Romero, Mrs. Sidney 
Perodin, of Rayne; Mrs. H. Patout, of Patoutville; Mrs. P. C. Derouen, of 
Petite Anse; Mrs. Samuel Pointis and Mrs. S. O. Nuckolls, of New Iberia.
