M., one of New Iberia's grand old citizens passed away in the death of Mrs. Florestine C. Schwing. Mrs. Schwing was born in November 15, 1838, in Patoutville, Iberia Parish, where she grew to early womanhood. After her marriage to Mr. George Schwing they moved to Iberville Parish, where Mr. Schwing died of yellow fever during the epidemic of 1878. In 1882 Mrs. Schwing returned with her family to Iberia, where she has resided ever since. Her three children, all well known and highly esteemed citizens of New Iberia, still survive her, being Miss Ria, Mr. John A., and Mr. Fred O. Schwing. The funeral services will be conducted from St. Peter's Catholic Church at 9 A. M. Saturday, at a solemn requiem Mass.
