Died, at the residence of his son-in-law, Mr. W. K. Frantz, on Thursday, February 19th at 1:30 o'clock A. M., the venerable Mr. William Byrne Sharp, aged sixty-five years and one month. Deceased had been an invalid for several years, and some few days ago contracted Influenza from which he rapidly sank, until life became extinct. Mr. Sharp was a native of Donaldsonville and settled in this Parish some twenty-five years since, engaging in the occupation of sugar planting near Jeanerette. A few years there-after, he removed with his children to our City and engaged in the fire and life insurance business. His health failing him, he removed to Atlanta, Ga., where he remained for a couple of years, after which he again took up his residence in New Iberia. He leaves to mourn him, besides his widow, three daughters and two sons, namely Mrs. J. Robert Perry, Mrs. W. K. Frantz, Miss Alma Sharp and Messrs. Frank Sharp of Shreveport and Lin Sharp of Atlanta, Ga. The funeral was conducted by Reverends J. S. Brown and Martin Hebert the same afternoon at four o'clock. (New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, February 21, 1920, Image 5 WILLIAM BYRNE SHARP After a lingering illness of many months Mr. William Byrne Sharp passed away at his home at 526 East Main Street, on Thursday morning, at 1:30 o'clock, at an age of 65 years and 1 month. Mr. Sharp was a native of Donaldsonville, Louisiana, in which city he spent the early years of his life. He had been a resident and active business man of New Iberia for many years, raising his family, all prominent and esteemed personages, in this city. He is survived by his wife, and two sons; and three daughters, Mrs. Robert Perry, Mrs. K. W. Frantz and Miss Alma Sharp, all of New Iberia. The funeral services were conducted from the Methodist Church, Thursday at 4 o'clock P. M.
