At the family residence in [smudge] on Tuesday afternoon [smudge] August 
21st, 1900, An [smudge] one year old son of [smudge] Shaw and Ethel V. 
[smudge]. [smudge funeral took place from [smudge] church in this place on 
[smudge] afternoon at 5 oclock [sic].


The Angel of Death has claimed the only son of Dr. and Mrs. Guy Shaw of 
Loreauville, as chronicled in another colum [sic]. The little fellow's 
earthly cares and troubles were short. It has been his privilege to *ooner 
go to a happy home even before the earth had been dear to him. A mother and 
father's loss and sorrow here is their treasure and joy in the sweet bye and 
bye.

As we write these lines we are advised that their eldest child, a little 
girl, is also at the point of death, her life almost dispared [sic] of. She 
has been an unfortunate child, having only recently recovered from the 
effects of a fall from a buggy, resulting in the breaking of her arm.

Their third child a little girl is also quite ill.

Dr. and Mrs. Guy A. Shaw of Loreauville had the misfortune, on Tuesday 
evening last, of losing their little son, Angus, aged one year. The cause of 
death was scarlet fever, and their little daughter is also reported in a 
precarious condition from the same disease.
