(New Iberia, La.) 1894-1946, May 21, 1904, Image 3 Last Friday afternoon the remains of Mrs. Sarah Cade Smedes, who died at her late home in Lafayette parish the day previous, were interred in the Protestant Cemetery in this city. Deceased was sixty four years of age; was well known and highly esteemed not alone in her home parish and neighborhood, but pretty much throughout this entire section and especially so in this city. Captain C. Taylor Cade, ex Sheriff of this parish, as well as Hon. Overton and Will Cade are brothers of the deceased, and Charles E. Smedes and Miss Necie Smedes her surviving children. All of these good people are well and favorably known to all New Iberians. Rev. C. C. Kramer conducted the funeral ceremony. Peace to her ashes.
