Miss Kate Wood Smith died at the residence of her mother, Mrs. H. B. Smith, on 
Center street, last Sunday morning, after a severe illness. Miss Smith had 
been sick for a long while nevertheless the sad intelligence of her passing 
away was a shock to her numerous friends and admirers here and elsewhere. 
Deceased was 47 years of age. Funeral services were held Monday forenoon at 10 
o'clock and remains were laid to their final resting place in the Protestant 
Cemetery Peace to her ashes.
