(New Iberia, La.) 1902-1944, June 12, 1920, Image 10 NECROLOGY. The funeral of Mr. James Thompson, the gentleman who was struck by lightning and instantly killed at his home near New Iberia during a rain storm on Friday, June 4th was held from the Methodist church last Sunday afternoon at five o'clock. The remains were held over for two days awaiting the arrival here of a number of his relatives from Mississippi, texas and other States. Deceased was a member of the Pythian and Woodmen of the World Orders and the Pythians held appropriate services at the home prior to the church service, Mr. Frank Bertram acting as master of ceremony. Those of his relatives to arrive here in time for the funeral were his aunt, Miss May Russell of Willows, Miss.; a sister, Mrs. R. A. Grundy, Granbury, Texas, and Robert A. Thompson, a brother, who came here from Memphis, Tex., he was also a brother of Mrs. Phil Broughton. He leaves a widow and four children to mourn his demise. The pall bearers were Messrs. C. M. Compton, S. M. Weil, Frank Bertram, H. H. Winters, Reginald Sonnemann and John Winters.
